"Let us not forget that the cultivation of the earth is the most important labor of man. When tillage begins, other arts will follow. The farmers, therefore, are the founders of civilization."

~ Daniel Webster

Salvador Parra, mango and vegetable grower

Salvador Parra Ahumada

Juan Parra Ibarra planted this mango grove thirty-two years ago. For the past twelve years, his son, Salvador Parra, has managed the grove using sustainable organic methods.

The Parras are pioneers in organic agriculture in Mexico and today, they are the only family in Mexico to grow, harvest and pack organic mangos. Salvador Parra also implements Biodynamic growing techniques along with his organic methods. New Harvest Organics is proud to be the exclusive shipper of the Parra family’s mangos.

New Harvest Organics—Celebrating its 18th Year with the Parra Family, Mexico’s Longest Certified Organic Producer

Your customers want to know their organic fruit from Mexico is grown with the highest quality and integrity and from a family they can trust.  That is why we at New Harvest Organics are delighted to begin our eighteenth season with the Parra family.  To this day the Parra family is the longest continuously certified producer of organics in Mexico.  They are the ONLY family in Mexico to grow, pack and export organic mangoes in one operation.  The mangoes produced by the Parra family are handled entirely from orchard to package by the Parras and this results in fruit grown and packed with great care and exceptional integrity in regard to organic production standards.  Located just 12 hours from the U.S. border, Guasave is the only region in the world from which mangoes can be shipped into the U.S. without undergoing hot water treatment, so the fruit can be harvested with maximum maturity, sheen and flavor.

New Harvest is also just finishing Hadens and Tommy Atkins over the next seven days.  Kent mangoes are a new variety that we will be offering this week.  Keitt mangoes are about three weeks out.  We will finish out the season with Keitt mangoes hopefully taking us to mid September.  We will begin offering mangoes from Brazil and Ecuador by October 1st.  This is the time to bring in the Parra family’s fruit and promote a really wonderful mango.  We thank you for your support as does the Parra family.
